 Sangama is created through many forms of participation—presence, relationship, creativity, time, skills, connections, and financial resources.

Financial contribution is one part of this larger ecology. It helps expand access, create public resources, sustain the infrastructure and people carrying the work, strengthen local relationships, and seed emerging initiatives.

This is not another level of membership.

Contributing more does not create greater belonging, authority, influence, or access within Sangama. It is simply one way to help make the work possible.

We have intentionally kept membership and engagement at a relatively low financial level so that participation is as accessible as possible. However, even at these lower levels, membership may still be out of reach for some people from different cultural and economic contexts around the world who would like to participate. Contributions help equalize access across these differences, making it possible for people in more constrained financial situations to still take part in Sangama’s spaces and offerings.

It might provide Global Online Village memberships to people who need support.

It might help keep public Sangama resources freely available.

It might compensate a Balinese collaborator.

Or it might become part of the seed resources that allow a new Civilization Lab initiative to take its first steps.

1. Access and Participation

We want financial circumstances to be as little of a barrier to participation as possible.

Contributions can help provide scholarships and supported access to Sangama programs and community spaces.

For example:

  • A Global Banjar scholarship is $27 per month, so a $50 monthly contribution could make it possible for another person to participate in the Global Banjar.
  • A contribution could provide multiple memberships in the Global Online Village for people who need financial assistance.
  • Resources can help people participate in courses, learning pathways, gatherings, and other Sangama experiences.

The intention is simple: people with greater financial capacity can help widen the circle of participation.

2. Sangama Commons and Public Resources

Much of what Sangama creates is intended to be shared openly.

Contributions can help create and sustain:

  • Podcasts and public conversations
  • White papers, articles, and research
  • Practice guides and learning resources
  • Videos and teachings
  • Translated and intercultural resources
  • Frameworks for the inward, communal, and outward journeys

These resources allow Sangama’s work to reach people far beyond those who are paying members.

3. Core Capacity and Infrastructure

Meaningful community requires real infrastructure and ongoing care.

Contributions may help sustain:

  • The Sangama online platform and website
  • Technology and communication
  • Administration and coordination
  • Design, media, and production
  • Program development
  • Fair compensation for collaborators
  • The focused time required to host, develop, and sustain Sangama

This underlying capacity allows the work to grow from creativity, presence, and care rather than constant financial pressure.

4. Local Reciprocity and Collaboration

Sangama is growing within Bali and seeks to do so through respect, reciprocity, and shared benefit.

Contributions can help support:

  • Balinese collaborators, teachers, and cultural advisors
  • Local facilitators, artists, and practitioners
  • Fair compensation for local work
  • Translation and intercultural learning
  • Community partnerships
  • Local participation in Sangama programs
  • Place-based community initiatives

Bali is not simply a setting for Sangama. It is a living cultural and relational context to which we have responsibilities.

5.- Civilization Lab Social Incubation Fund

 

Part of Sangama’s outward journey is helping people move ideas toward meaningful action.

Financial contributions can help build a Social Incubation Fund within the Civilization Lab to support emerging projects and experiments aligned with human and planetary flourishing.

Resources may eventually help provide:

  • Seed funding for promising initiatives
  • Research and ecosystem mapping
  • Community conversations and convenings
  • Early prototypes and experiments
  • Collaborative project teams
  • Learning and evaluation
  • Storytelling and sharing what is learned

As specific initiatives emerge, Sangama will clearly communicate what is being funded, how resources are being used, and what is being learned.

Transparency and Accountability

We believe people should be able to understand how resources move through Sangama and what they help make possible.

We will share periodic Resource and Impact updates including things such as:

  • Scholarships and memberships provided
  • Resources received and allocated
  • Public resources created
  • Local collaborators supported
  • Infrastructure sustained
  • Civilization Lab initiatives supported
  • What we are learning
  • Emerging needs and opportunities

Transparency belongs to the whole community—not only to those who contribute financially.

More Than Money

Financial resources are important, but they are not the only resources that sustain Sangama.

People also contribute through their presence, relationships, knowledge, creativity, professional capacities, hospitality, connections, and care.

No single form of participation stands above the others.

We welcome your financial contribution, and whenever possible, we also invite you into the conversations, relationships, and shared life of Sangama.

Financial Contribution Does Not Purchase Power

Financial contribution does not provide greater authority, control, influence, belonging, community status, or privileged access to Sangama’s founders.

Significant individual, organizational, corporate, or restricted contributions will be considered through a shared discernment process.

Sangama may decline resources when their source, expectations, restrictions, or consequences conflict with our values or compromise the integrity of the work.

Sangama is currently a mission-led social enterprise and is not a registered charitable organization.

Financial contributions support the people, programs, infrastructure, access pathways, relationships, and initiatives described here and should not be assumed to be tax-deductible charitable donations.
